Bhubaneswar: Close on the heels of a massive lawyers’ agitation in Cuttack, there seems to be growing apprehension over inordinate delay on the part of Commissionerate Police to nab the miscreants involved in the assault of a lawyer in Bhubaneswar. The injured lawyer Sanjay Narayan Swain has alleged that the investigation has slowed down due to the involvement of a politician's son.

According to reports, Swain was attacked by miscreants following a scuffle over vehicle parking in front of a garage at Tankapani Road on Saturday. The attack was captured in a CCTV camera installed at the location.

“A group of men came and asked the garage staff to clear the road. Later, they attacked me with a stone after I asked the youths not to misbehave and manhandle the garage staff,” said Swain.

Lawyer Atulya Mohanty informed that law and order situation in Bhubaneswar has gone for a toss as their colleague was brutally attacked in broad daylight in Bhubaneswar.

“We suspect that as some influential people are involved, the cops are showing some leniency in the case. However, we have already brought the matter to the notice of the Orissa High Court Bar Association and we will abide by their decision,” said Mohanty.
