Missing Odisha Nurse’s Dead Body Found Stuffed In Sack
Jagatsingpur: Mystery shrouds the death of a 23-year-old nurse whose body was recovered from Biluakhai riverbed under Biridi Police limits in Jagatsinghpur district. The deceased has been identified as Niharika Patra of Balianta area in Bhubaneswar.
As per reports, Niharika was missing since September 9 and her body was found stuffed inside a sack from Biluakhai riverbed on Tuesday. It is suspected that Niharika was murdered and her body was dumped at the spot.
Sources said Niharika worked as a paramedical staff at a private nursing home in Cuttack.
“Today, a body stuffed inside a sack was recovered and later the mother and other relatives identified it to be that of Niharika who was missing since September 8. A missing complaint was earlier lodged in this connection at Madhupatna Police Station in Cuttack,” said Jagatsinghpur Additional SP, Biswanath Mishra.
Family members of the deceased alleged involvement of Niharika’s male friend, Kishore alias Raja, in the murder. It is alleged that Niharika was in a relationship with Raja, who killed her.
“My daughter had left home to meet Raja on September 8 and he has killed my daughter,” said Pratima, mother of the deceased Niharika.
Niharika’s sister said, “From her clothes, we identified her. The cops did not cooperate, but rather harassed us.”
