Sonepur: Innovating a new funda of looting people, some miscreants pelted stones at a truck and later looted the driver after the vehicle overturned near Anganadi bridge on Bargarh-Borigumma NH-26 in Sonepur district last night.

The driver identified as one Krishna Kumar of Mirzapur district in Uttar Pradesh sustained grievous injuries during the incident. He was rescued by the driver of another truck and admitted to Tunguripali CHC.

According to sources, around ten miscreants reportedly pelted stones at Krishna Kumar's truck following which he lost control of the vehicle. The miscreants allegedly looted around Rs 10,000, a wristwatch and gold ornaments from his possession after the truck overturned.

Asked about the incident, Krishna claimed that the miscreants pelted stones at two other vehicles with an aim to loot them, however, they narrowly escaped.

"I lost control over the wheels when a stone came and hit me on my face while I was going to Rourkela from Vishakhapatnam. The last thing I remember was that my truck veered off the road. After regaining consciousness, I found that they have looted everything from me," Kumar said.

The incident has shocked everyone including the police who have launched a manhunt to nab the anti-socials.
