Miscreants make failed attempt to loot ATM in Puri

Puri: Once again throwing an open challenge for police, miscreants on Saturday night attempted to loot cash by breaking open an ATM of the State Bank of India near its branch in Bajrakote under Krushnaprasad block in the district.

Though the miscreants damaged the ATM, they failed to loot cash from it.

The matter came to light after some local residents found the door of the ATM open and machine damaged. Police soon rushed to the spot and initiated a probe in connection with the incident.

According to local residents, miscreants attempted to loot cash from the ATM taking advantage of prolonged power cut following thunderstorm which lashed several parts of the State yesterday.
