Rourkela: Looters strike again. In the wee hours of today,  a gang of five miscreants looted Rs.10 Lakh  in front of the Kuanramunda Panchayat office.

As per reports, miscreants have reportedly decamped with a vehicle carrying  pension money at gun point. In a bid to terrorise the employees, the miscreants had resorted to blank firing before snatching Rs. 10 Lakh from the Bolero vehicle.

Later, police reached the spot and had started a probe into the loot incident.

The Steel City has been witnessing a spike in loot cases recently. Its only on June 28, 2019, three bike-borne miscreants looted Rs 3.97 Lakh from  the employees of Large Area Multi- Purposed Cooperative Society (LAMPS) at Kalunga area under Brahmani Tarang Police Limits.

Though the police have claimed of intense patrolling in the city, such successive loot incidents in the city has heightened a sense of insecurity among the denizens.
