Miscreants loot ornaments worth Rs 35 lakh in Keonjhar

Keonjhar: In a daring daylight robbery, unidentified miscreants looted 40 kgs of silver and nearly 600 grams of gold ornaments from a jewellery shop located at Barbil daily market in the district here on Saturday.

According to reports, two bike-borne miscreants looted the valuables soon after the owner of Maa Tarini jewellery store was arranging the ornaments after opening the shop today. The cost of the ornaments is said to be nearly Rs 35 lakh.

Sources said the miscreants soon fled the spot in a black Pulsar after committing the crime.

Senior police officials informed that a case has been registered basing on the complaint filed by the owner of the jewellery shop and further investigation in connection with the incident is on.
