Miscreants loot cash at gunpoint from petrol pump in Sundergarh

Sundergarh: Miscreants looted Rs 1.5 lakh after terrorising staff of a petrol pump at Gadiajor village in Sundergarh district on Friday night. It is for the second time in past one month that miscreants have targeted a filling station in the district. Earlier, bike-borne miscreants had looted Rs 60,000 at gunpoint from a fuel filling station near Kutra bus stand last month.

According to reports, five miscreants came in two motorcycles and looted Rs 1.5 lakh from Bidhata petrol pump after attacking its manager. The miscreants also fired in air to terrorise other staff.

“The miscreants resorted to blank firing and attacked me. They also decamped with ATM cards, wallets,” said manager Nabakishore Patel.

Following the incident, Sundergarh SP Soumya Mishra and other senior officials reached the spot and interrogated the petrol pump staff in connection with the incident.

“We are investigating the matter and the miscreants will be nabbed soon,” said Mishra.
