Minor girl gang raped in Sambalpur; 1 detained

Sambalpur: A minor girl was allegedly gang raped in Kuchinda area of Sambalpur today. The incident took place while the girl was returning home along with her brother after watching 'Makar Mela' in Turei village.

According to the complaint lodged by the family members of the girl at Mahulpali Police Station, four youths gang raped the girl after abducted her.

After the complaint was registered, police detained one person and interrogated him in connection with the incident. On the other hand, the rape survivor said that she didn't know any of the accused.

A police investigation is currently underway.
