Man, woman in an ‘illicit relationship’ found dead in Angul

Angul: A man and a young woman were found dead under suspicious circumstances near Kumanda Chandibazar area in Angul district. The deceased have been identified as Ranjan and Kirti (name changed). Their bodies were found hanging from a tree in the wee hours today.

Distantly related, both Ranjan and Kirti, maintained an extramarital relationship with each other. Though both were married, both Ranjan and Kirti developed a relationship which was opposed by their respective families. The duo had reportedly gone missing some four days back.

“We do not know anything much and at around 7 AM we got information about the incident. It appears that the duo committed suicide out of public humiliation,” said a villager.

Though the exact reason behind the deaths is still unclear, police have initiated a probe into the incident.
