Bolangir: A man was allegedly killed over past enmity at Jharabahali village under Saintala Police limits of Bolangir district last night. The deceased has been identified as Jagadish Manhira.

While the exact reason behind Manhira’s death is yet to be ascertained, his relatives have alleged that he has been killed by a co-villager over some previous enmity.

“He (Jagadish Manhira) was murdered as there is a grievous injury on his head. He has been murdered by one of our villagers who had some rivalry with us. He had threatened to kill us one by one after a fight last year,” alleged Hrudananda Manhira, a relative of Jagadish.

Meanwhile, local police reached the spot after getting information and has initiated a probe.

“Somebody killed Jagadish by attacking him on his head with a weapon when he was asleep inside a poultry farm at Jharabahali village yesterday night. We have launched an investigation into the matter. Besides, a scientific team has been asked to conduct an on-the-spot inspection. Further investigation will be carried out based on their report,” informed Baruni Das, Saintala Police Station IIC.
