Man involved in train robbery arrested; gold worth Rs 15 lakh seized
Sundergarh: A man allegedly involved in a robbery in a train was arrested today by the Government Railway Police (GRP), Rourkela.
According to sources, the accused has been identified as Akbar Ali and police have recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 15 lakh from him.
A few days ago, gold worth 700 grams was looted from passengers on Bokaro-Alleppey train. Meanwhile, two of his associates are still at large, sources said.
Ajay Pratap Swain, SP (Railways) said “On December 17, a man named B Satyanarayan was travelling to his sister’s home. Three miscreants were travelling in the same compartment and stole the luggage with 700 grams of gold ornaments in it.”
