Kedar used to sell clothes on foot path in front of the LIC office in Bhanjanagar and is survived by his wife and two daughters.

The incident came to light after locals spotted the body of Kedar and later informed his family members.

Muna Patra (brother of the deceased) soon reached the spot and rushed Kedar to the Bhanjanagar hospital where he was declared brought dead by doctors. The body reportedly bore injury marks on ears, nose and neck, said sources.

According to sources, a few days back, Kedar had an altercation with his wife and in-laws over some family issues. Following the dispute, Kedar’s wife along with her daughters had gone to her father’s house at Gadapur village in Kandhamal district.

As per family members of the deceased, on December 24, Kedar had gone to his in-laws' house to resolve the dispute with his wife and in-laws.

“My brother had informed me after reaching his in-laws house. On December 26, his friend Jaga Patra had also seen him at his in-laws place. His father-in-law (Dukhishyam Patra) and two brothers-in-law (Kailash Patra and Prakash Patra) had killed and thrown him on the road,” alleged Muna.

“Kailash uncle has killed my father,” alleged elder daughter of the deceased, Nandini.
