Man axes wife to death in Mayurbhanj; detained by police

Gajapati: A man allegedly axed his wife to death over family dispute at Khirasing village under Mohana police limits in Gajapati district this morning. The deceased has been identified as Kira Ranasandha.

Meanwhile, police have detained Kira’s husband Kura Ranasandha and questioning him to know the exact reason behind the crime.

According to reports, Kura was suspecting Kira of having extra marital affair and had also tried to attack her earlier. However, she had escaped the attack.

While Kira was preparing tea in the kitchen this morning, Kura attacked her to death with an axe and fled the spot.

Police rushed to the spot after getting information and launched a manhunt to nab Kura. Later the accused was traced and detained by the police.
