Sundergarh: A day after five members of a family were brutally murdered at Indupur village, police today detained two more persons in connection with the incident. Earlier, four persons mostly neighbours of the deceased Mangiri Munda were detained for interrogation.

According to sources, the four persons confessed to have killed Mangiri and her four children while police had subsequently recovered all the five bodies from a well on Saturday.

Earlier, deceased Mangiri's husband, Sudam Munda had lodged a missing complaint at Koida Police Station after he could not trace his wife and four children at home yesterday.

After spotting blood stains and broken bangles of Mangiri inside the house, Sudam had subsequently lodged the complaint alleging murder.

Later, police found the bodies of the five from a well located some 200 meters away from their house.

According to reports, Sudam's family was killed after locals suspected them of performing witchcraft which had led to death of a child in the village.
