Rourkela: A large cache of explosives, including 44,800 pieces of detonators and 17 packets of ammonium nitrate, was seized following raids near a forest under Brahmani Tarang Police limits in Sundergarh district.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the explosives were being procured from Dhenkanal. As per reports, the explosive consignment was being transported in a four-wheeler.

Four persons have been arrested while one person managed to escape during the raid. Police suspects that the explosives were supposed to be used for illegal stone blasting. However, further investigation.
