Houses, vehicles damaged in bomb attack, group clash in Khurda

Khurda: Tension ran high at Jamusahi in Khurda following bombing and group clash between residents of two colonies in the area late on Tuesday night.

According to sources, a group of 25 people barged into the nearby colony of the other group and hurled bombs at some houses in the locality. While several houses sustained damages during the incident, cars and some other vehicles were also destroyed in the attack.

On being informed, the Town Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Sources said that palpable tension was prevailing in the area over the past few days owing to some dispute related to ‘Dola Melana’ but the situation turned grim yesterday.

Meanwhile, in order to control the law and order, the district administration has deployed adequate number of police personnel in the area.
