Headless body of woman found in toilet of train in Puri

Puri: In a bizarre incident, the headless body of a woman passenger was recovered from a toilet of Gunupur-Puri passenger train at Puri station this morning. Till final reports came in, the head was spotted near Gandhi Peeth level crossing in Delang area.

As per sources, the train was about to depart from Puri station at around 6.30 am today when one passenger informed the Government Railway Police (GRP) about spotting a body inside the toilet of a bogie.

Soon, the GRP personnel rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident. “We have begun probe and the bogie from which the body was recovered has been stationed at Platform No. 8,” said a police official.

Sources further informed that the bogie was attached to Khurda Puri Express yesterday that reached the Puri station today morning.

Though police have claimed the woman to be around 40-45 years old, her identity has still not been ascertained. Meanwhile, a scientific team has also reached the spot to investigate whether the woman has been raped before being murdered.
