Bhubaneswar: Yet again, questions are being raised on the safety and security of women in the State after a girl was allegedly raped at a hotel in the capital city on the pretext of offering her a job. The survivor is a resident of neighbouring Chhattisgarh.

As per reports, the woman levelled allegations against one Jay Kumar, who happens to be a senior official of a private finance company in Bhubaneswar.

The accused had reportedly invited the woman to a hotel for an interview. But when she went to the hotel, she was allegedly raped there.

Sources claimed that Kumar warned the woman against telling anyone about the incident.

However, the survivor approached Laxmi Sagar police and lodged a complaint against Kumar, based on which police registered cases under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and arrested the accused.
