Bolangir: Police on Monday nabbed dreaded criminal Krishna after an encounter near Tusura chhak in Bolangir yesterday. With injury on his left leg, the criminal was initially admitted to Saintala hospital and later shifted to Bolangir hospital. However, he was rushed to Burla hospital after his condition deteriorated again.

Acting on a tip-off, police attempted to arrest Krishna yesterday. Finding police on the spot, Krishna opened firing at the cops first and the police also retaliated. Krishna has suffered a bullet injury on his left leg.

"After giving him a preliminary treatment, we sent him to Burla for further treatment. His condition is stable now," said a doctor at Bolangir hospital.

As per reports, several criminal cases are pending against Krishna including a robbery of Rs 19 lakh at Andhra Bank in Deogaon and loot of Rs 3 lakh from the Manager of Saintala liquor shop.

A few days back, another dreaded criminal Babul Mahanand was arrested following an encounter with  Titlagarh Police. Babul had sustained a bullet injury on his leg and was admitted to VSS Medical College & Hospital in Burla for treatment.
