Cops net ‘Paku Gang’ in Bhubaneswar, gun & bullets seized
Bhubaneswar: In a major breakthrough against criminals for ensuring smooth conduct of the general elections, Commissionerate Police on Monday night arrested the kingpin of infamous ‘Paku gang’, Somnath Bhujbal and three of his aides.
Senior officials informed that the gang was actively involved in narcotics trade and 32 grams of brown sugar worth nearly Rs 3 lakh has been seized from their possession.
Sources said that the gang was also involved in illegal stone mining. They used to invest the money generated from the illegal mining to purchase brown sugar to make more profits.
The gang used luxury cars to supply the narcotics substances to several agents in different parts of the State including Bhubaneswar and nearby areas.
“We have nabbed four criminals and seized a gun, two live bullets from their possession. Further investigation in this connection is on,” said Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahoo.
