College student 'killed over love affair' in Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: A mutilated body of a youth was recovered from a jungle in Dhenkanal district today. According to sources, the deceased has been identified as Bidyadhar Pradhan, a Plus-III student of Siminai College in the district. He was missing since last two days and his body was traced by some locals in a jungle near his college.

Family members have alleged that he has been murdered over a love affair.

"A girl named Puja Rani was torturing him since last few days. She had also lodged a police complaint against him. He has been murdered and we want the accused to be arrested soon," said Sailendra, a relative of the deceased.

"Two days ago, father of the deceased had lodged a report that his son is missing. Today morning some locals discovered the dead body in the jungle near his college. As per the direction of the Superintendent of Police (SP), we have launched an investigation and have sent the body for post-mortem. More details can be known only after the post-mortem report is received," said Malay Nayak, IIC of Dhenkanal Sadar Police Station.
