Bombs hurled at house in Bhubaneswar; police suspect notorious criminal behind incident

Bhubaneswar: Tension erupted at Patharbandha slum in the city today morning after unidentified miscreants hurled bombs at a house triggering panic in the area.

According to sources, four bike-borne miscreants hurled several bombs one after the other in the slum and fled the spot. However, no casualty has been reported in the.

On getting information police rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident.

While the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, police suspect that notorious criminal Prakash Bisoi along with his associates carried out the bombings.

Locals complained that Bisoi was allegedly involved in a brown sugar racket and frequently caused problems to the residents in the slum. He was handed over to the police by the residents and was recently released from the  jail. He might have hurled the bombs with the help of his friends to avenge the altercation with the locals, they said.
