Bolangir: Vigilance sleuths on Saturday conducted raids on the office and property of Bolangir District Civil Supplies Officer (CSO), Ranjan Seth, on allegations of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The anti-corruption officials conducted simultaneous raids at the CSO's office and property at Bargarh, Bolangir, Baripada and Bhubaneswar.

According to reports, the sleuths raided five places including the government quarters at Bolangir Officer Colony, District Civil Supplies Office, his house at Bargarh and flat in an apartment in Bhubaneswar. The Vigilance personnel also raided his in-laws’ house at Bargarh.

"A team headed by Bolangir DSP along with vigilance officials and other witnesses is conducting raids simultaneously on the property of Ranjan Seth. We have recovered many important documents and papers from his possession. So far, assets worth Rs 140 lakhs has been detected. The total amount of assets would be known only after raids," said Bolangir Vigilance DSP Sanjaya Kumar Das Mohapatra.
