Blood-soaked body of youth found on roadside

Khurda: A blood-soaked body of a youth was found lying on the roadside in Jatni of Khurda district on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Rajendra Kumar Nayak of Delanga, an LIC agent.

Family members of the deceased alleged that Nayak was murdered after being attacked by unknown miscreants on Saturday night.

“As he was the president of the LIC Insurance agents here, a group hatched a conspiracy against Nayak and killed him last night,” alleged a relative.

"We demand immediate arrest of the culprits or else we will stage agitation," said another relative.

Earlier in the morning today, locals spotted the body lying in a pool of blood on the roadside and informed the police.

On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident. Prima facie, the incident seems to be a fall out of past enmity, said a police official.
