Sundergarh: Police busted an inter-district bike-lifting racket in Sundergarh district today and arrested 14 persons in this connection. Police have recovered 13 stolen bikes from the possession of the accused. All the bikes were stolen from Sundergarh Town, Talasara and Sadar Police Station areas of the district.

According to sources, a team led by Sundergarh SP, Soumya Mishra raided various places and arrested main accused Subrat Sekhar Deo from Birbira area under Dharuadihi Police limits. Following his arrest, police recovered details of the stolen bikes and other accused persons, sources added.

Sundergarh SP, Soumya Mishra said "The gang is active in Sundergarh, Jharsugda, Rourkela and Sambalpur districts. They used to steal the bikes and later sell them. We arrested 14 persons in this connection and have recovered 13 bikes. Investigation is on and we are hopeful of further recoveries. Involvement of the accused in similar cases in other districts will also be investigated."
