Rourkela/Bolangir: In a brazen broad daylight robbery, armed miscreants allegedly looted around Rs 12.5 lakh in two separate incidents in Odisha.

Armed miscreants allegedly looted Rs 6.5 lakh from a private company manager at gun point near Rourkela Municipality office on Monday.

As per the allegation of the private company employee, Ranjan Kumar Dhala, he was returning from bank after withdrawing Rs 6.5 lakh to give salary to the employees of his company when two bike-borne miscreants intercepted him near the municipality office, brandished gun at him and decamped with the money.

A case has been reportedly registered in connection with the incident at Udit Nagar Police Station following which cops have started investigation based on the CCTV footage of the bank from where Dhala had withdrawn the money.

In another such incident, bike-borne miscreants allegedly looted a businessman, Anand Agrawal, of Rs 6 lakh in Bolangir on Sunday. As per the allegation, Agrawal was in front of the main gate of his home, after returning from his shop at around 9 PM yesterday, when the miscreants snatched away the bag containing the money.

Town police have started an investigation based on the complaint of Agrawal.
