2 arms dealers nabbed by QAT in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: After facing criticism over rising incidents of crime in Bhubaneswar, the Commissionerate Police claimed success in foiling a dacoity bid.

Moreover, the Quick Action Team (QAT) of Commissionerate police arrested two arms dealers -Sangram and Sunil who were planning to commit a dacoity at Tamando area on the city’s outskirts.

Senior police officials informed that one firearm, two rounds of live ammunition were seized from their possession.

Earlier, two arms dealers were arrested two days ago from Tamando. A gun, five bullets were recovered from them.

The drive against illegal firearms assumes significance for Commissionerate police as three firing incidents were reported in the past one month in Bhubaneswar.

A massive blocking drive was also undertaken by Commissionerate police ahead of Durga puja celebrations in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
