Miscreants loot Rs 3 lakh cash, gold from CESU employee's house

Dhenkanal: Armed miscreants looted Rs 3.5 lakh, 130 grams of gold ornaments and other valuables from the house of a CESU employee at Pandua Chhak under Tumsingha Police limits in Dhenkanal district on Saturday night. According to sources, five masked barged into the house of one Manoj Sahoo at around 9.30 pm yesterday and decamped with cash and jewellery.

After attacking Manoj with sharp weapons, the miscreants also reportedly took other members in the house hostage. The family members could not resist the loot as the miscreants were armed with weapons.

Manoj, who sustained injuries in the attack, informed police about the robbery.

Following the robbery, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. "We are investigating the matter and the culprits will be apprehended soon," said a senior police official.
