Tamil Nadu recorded the highest new cases with 33,764 people testing positive for the virus, while Kerala added 28,798 cases. The single-day spike in Covid-19 cases in the State witnessed a drastic fall with only 6,736 people testing positive for the virus in last 24 hours even as there is no break in the rising cases of fatalities.

Odisha touched a new height in daily cases of fatalities due to Covid-19 since the onset of pandemic with 35 more patients succumbing to the deadly virus in last 24 hours even as the single-day spike once again crossed 11,000 mark during the period.

More than 1.77 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with states and union territories, and they will receive one lakh more within the next three days, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
