The door-to-door month-long vaccination drive which will begin from tomorrow in Odisha particularly aims to inoculate all those who have not taken their second dose or are due for the second jab, stated the Health Services Director.

Of 99 samples sent to Lok Nayak Hospital, 74 were detected with the delta variant. Alpha variants were detected in only 966 samples.

For the study, published in The Lancet journal, the team reviewed data from 7,28,321 individuals aged 12 or above who had received the third dose of the BNT162b2 vaccine.

The CDC this week updated its Covid-19 vaccine guidance to approve the fourth dose for immunocompromised people that includes organ transplant recipients, certain cancer patients, and people with HIV, at least six months after completing their primary vaccination series, NBC news reported.

In that study, the vaccine was 90.7 per cent effective in preventing Covid, according to the FDA.
