An MoU was signed to recognise Covid-19 vaccine certification by India's Ambassador to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra and the Himalayan nation's Health Secretary on Tuesday.
As many as 53 students of a Girl’s High School in Odisha’s Sundargarh district tested positive for Covid-19. The infected students are from class 8th, 9th and 10th. The school has been shut for a week after the detection of cases, the headmistress informed on Tuesday.
As per preliminary reports, the students, who have been tested positive for Covid-19, are studying in classes 8, 9 and 10, informed headmistress of the school.
A decrease of 4,859 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
All the positive students, who were staying in VIMSAR hostels, have been admitted to the Covid hospital.

The processes and incentives for these ambassadors, include assigning referral codes on Co-WIN for each one of them.Through these codes every person they get vaccinated will be added to their tally at COVID-19 Vaccination Centres (CVCs) through Co-WIN, the letter said.

"Let us ensure collectively that no eligible citizen is left without the 'Suraksha Kawachh' of Covid-19 vaccine in the country, and address issues of hesitancy, misinformation, superstition etc", said Mandaviya.

The US continues to be the worst-hit country with the world's highest number of cases and deaths at 47,730,591 and 771,118, according to the CSSE.
Citing the reasons for booster dose in the US, he said that the Delta variant is causing infections in European countries and that is also a reason for booster dose there. However, India has passed that phase now. "Healthcare workers were the first to be vaccinated. But no case has yet come after around 9 to 10 months which can advocate the need for the booster doses in India", opined Dr Seth.
