Bhubaneswar: In addition to 10 hotels that the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) had declared as pay and use quarantine facilities for suspected Covid-19 patients, two more hotels of the Capital city have been added to the list taking the total to 12.
In an order issued by the BMC, the civic body of Bhubaneswar stated that a large number of quarantine facilities are needed to contain the spread of Covid-19 for which a number of government buildings have already been designated as quarantine facilities. So evidently, there was need to set up more such facilities in case there is an explosion of Covid-19 patients in the states and two more hotels have volunteered, sources said.

Park Resort at Cuttack Road and Hotel Paradise at Mancheswar in Bhubaneswar are the two hotels that have been added to the list of hotels that can be used for self-quarantine.
While other hotels like Ginger Hotel and Empire Hotel extended their services on a pay and use basis, these two hotels will be providing their services predominantly on a charitable basis and as per BMC, they will not charge for the stay while a nominal Rs 300 will be charged for food.
The order by the civic body reiterated some of the guidelines for the persons intending to use pay and use quarantine.
1. The person intending to be self-quarantined should approach the listed hotels to avail this facility on a pay and use basis
2. The maximum number of days that a person can avail this quarantine facility is 14 days from the date of suspected incidence/travel/contact. In case of any doubt in the quarantined period, the course of action will be decided by the designated visiting doctor or medical officer

3. The hotels and the guests shall adhere to the quarantine protocol as issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department of Odisha and Health Department of the Union of India
4. BMC or the government will designate doctors or medical officers who will visit if needed and keep regular contact with the person availing the quarantine facility
5. When asked, the hotel management shall provide details of such guests in the prescribed format
Earlier, Ritesh Agarwal, the founder of OYO, had lent a helping hand by offering to convert OYO rooms and homes into quarantine centres, wherein all facilities will be available to people across cities in India.
