Bhubaneswar: The Bhadrak district administration on Wednesday withdrew the containment zone tag from four gram panchayats of Basudevpur and Bonth blocks which was imposed as a precautionary measure to contain the spread COVID-19.
The restrictions of containment zone in all the villages of Chudamani, Kismat, Krishnapur panchayats of Basudevpur block and Bonth Block's Charigaon panchayats have been lifted with immediate effect, said a notification from Bhadrak administration.
After completion of necessary contact tracing, testing and follow-up action, the administration lifted the containment zone restriction which was imposed on April 28.
Meanwhile, the curfew orders around Charampa area have been extended up to 14 May till 7 AM. The order issued by Bhadrak Collector directed the police to promulgate and strictly enforce the restriction in the area and maintain the law and order situation.
On the other hand, all authorized mobile servicing and repair shops in the district are allowed to open from 7 AM to 2 PM, but they will have to adhere to social distancing and other guidelines. The administration has however made it clear that the shops located in the containment zones will not be permitted to open.
Ganjam Admin Issues Guidelines for Shops
As Ganjam witnesses a steep rise in COVID-19 cases, the district administration has issued fresh guidelines for the shopkeepers in order to contain the spread of COVID-19.
As per the new order, all shopkeepers are bound to follow the social distancing norms. Also, the use of mask and gloves for the shopkeepers have been made mandatory. Similarly, customers without masks will not get any essential commodity.
All shop owners have been asked to draw circles maintaining a gap of at least 2 metres. They will also install 'No mask No Goods' Board outside their shops to aware the people.
Most importantly, the shopkeepers have been asked to keep 'CONTACT DIARY' for every customer, where all the details of the customer would be maintained.
A fine of Rs 1000 will be imposed apart from sealing of shops if owners fail to abide by the government guidelines.
Meanwhile, after detection of positive cases in the area, Sarpanch of Udaranga GP in Binjharpur block of Jajpur district has imposed a 72-hour shutdown in all villages. Similarly, Sarpanch of Chandanpur panchayat in Bari block has imposed 24-hour shutdown in three villages to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Both of them have written to Collector in this regard. It is pertinent to mention that Odisha government had earlier empowered Sarpanches with the power of district Collectors to strengthen the COVID battle.
