'Can't Give Extra Attempt To UPSC Aspirants Who Couldn't Take Last Chance'

New Delhi: The Centre on Friday told the Supreme Court it is not keen on granting an extra attempt to civil services aspirants, who could not take the last attempt of the exam amid the on-going Covid-19 pandemic.

Additional Solicitor General S.V. Raju, representing the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) submitted before a bench headed by Justice A M Khanwilkar “We are not ready to give one more chance.”

Raju sought time to file an affidavit citing that he had received instructions last night, informing that the Centre is not willing to give an extra chance.

The bench, also comprising justices B.R. Gavai and Krishna Murari, scheduled the plea of a civil services aspirant Rachna Singh for further hearing on January 25. The bench asked the Centre to serve the affidavit to parties involved in the matter.

In the previous hearing in the matter, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta had informed the top court that the government was considering the issue to grant an extra attempt to UPSC aspirants who missed their last chance.

On September 30 last year, the top court had declined a plea seeking direction to postpone the UPSC civil services preliminary exam, scheduled on October 4, citing the ongoing pandemic and floods in several parts of the country.

The top court had suggested that a formal decision on the last attempt issue should be taken expeditiously by the Centre. The bench noted it was suggested during the hearing in the matter that the merging of 2020 prelims and 2021 prelims be done.

“We are not impressed by this. Resorting to this will lead to a cascading effect on other exams as stated in UPSC affidavit”, the top court had said.

The bench had said the UPSC should ensure separate sitting arrangements for candidates who are suffering from cough and cold during the test.

Army Recruitment rally 2021

The Indian Army has come up with a recruitment notification for multiple posts inviting applications from 8th and 10th pass candidates. The recruitment rally will be held for eligible male candidates of districts of Agar Malwa, Alirajpur, Barwani, Burhanpur, Dewas, Dhar, Indore, Jhabua, Khandwa, Khargone, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Ratlam, Shajapur and Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh.

The rally will be held from March 20, 2021, to March 30, 2021, at Kushabhau Thakre Stadium, Dewas (Madhya Pradesh). “Online registration is mandatory and will be open from 20 January 2021 to 05 March 2021. Admit cards for the rally will be sent through registered e-mail from 06 March 2021 to 15 March 2021,” the notification reads.

Candidates will have to reach the venue on the given date and time as mentioned in the Admit Card as the gate will be opened at 00:30 AM and closed at 05:00 AM daily, it added.

Army Recruitment Rally 2021 Vacancy Details

Soldier General Duty: 10th/Matric pass with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject. For Board following grade system, minimum of D grade (33-40) in individual subjects or grade which contains 33% and overall aggregate of C2 grade.

Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical: 10+2/Intermediate Exam Pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce and Science) with 60% marks in aggregate and a minimum of 50% in each subject. Securing 50% in English and Maths/Accounts/Book Keeping in Class 12th is mandatory.

Soldier Nursing Assistant /(AMC)/ Nursing Assistant (Vet): 10+2/Intermediate pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in each subject OR 10+2/Intermediate pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and min 40% marks in each subject.

Soldier Technical and Soldier Technical Aviation/ Ammunition Examiner: 10+2/Intermediate pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths & English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in each subject.

Soldier Tradesmen 8th Pass: 8th Pass. No stipulation in aggregate % but should have scored a minimum of 33% in each subject.

Soldier Tradesmen 10th Pass: Class 10th/Matric simple pass. No stipulation in aggregate per cent but should have scored a minimum of 33% in each subject.

SSC Recruitment Results Tier-1 Tier-2

New Delhi: After the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) declared the results of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator and Senior Hindi Translator Examination – 2020, students are all geared up for the Paper-II examination scheduled next month.

The Descriptive Paper (Paper-II) of the aforesaid examination is tentatively scheduled to be held on February 14, 2021 (Sunday). The Admission Certificate of the qualified candidates will be uploaded on the websites of the respective Regional Offices approximately 7 days before the conduct of the Tier-II Examination.

However, the candidates who are unable to download their Admission Certificate may contact the concerned Regional Offices immediately. The responsibility of ensuring the download of the Admission Certificate is solely on the candidates.

Result Of Tier-I Exam and Answer Key Release

The paper-I examination was conducted two months ago in the Computer Based Mode at various centres all over the country. After applying the cut off fixed by the Commission in Paper-I, 1688 candidates have qualified in the said examination for appearing in Paper-II. The category-wise details of the candidates available and cut off marks are as under:

Staff Selection Commission Results

In addition to the number of UR candidates shown above 120-SC, 22-ST, 431-OBC, 84-EWS, 10-OH and 3-VH candidates qualifying at UR cut-off has been shown under their respective categories.

As specified earlier, the following minimum qualifying marks have been considered in Paper-I:

  • UR: 30%
  • OBC/ EWS: 25%
  • Others: 20%

Representations received from the candidates with regard to the answer keys have been carefully examined and the answer keys have been modified wherever necessary, the Commission has said.

The final answer keys have been used for evaluation. Final Answer Keys will be uploaded on the website of the Commission to the candidates for a period of one month from January 25, 2021, to February 24, 2021.

Note: Marks of the qualified/non-qualified candidates will be uploaded on the website of the Commission on January 22, 2021 (Friday). This facility will be available for a period of one month i.e. from January 22 to February 21, 2021. Candidates may check their individual marks by using their registration number and registered password and click on Result/Marks tab on the candidate dashboard.

Objectives for which a Chair Professor is appointed are as under:

(i) To study and carry out research in a specific area of interest in which advocacy and promotion through sustained research and dissemination of knowledge and information are the primary concerns
(ii) To organise conference, seminars, symposia, and capacity building etc. to support and sustain research and dissemination of knowledge in the relevant areas
(iii) To lead research in areas of interest common to the sponsors and the University
(iv) To secure the participation and continued involvement of other academic and research institutions involved in the special areas of work
(v) To promote establishment of networks of such Institutions
(vi) To promote and contribute to the objectives of the University

Nature of appointment and duration: The appointment will be made on short term Contract basis for a maximum period of two years or 70 years of age, whichever is earlier.

Maximum Age limit: The maximum age limit on the last date of application shall be 67 years.

Salary/Remuneration:

(i) Candidates already working in Government service and fulfilling requirement of experience and eligibility conditions, shall be appointed on short term contract basis in a Professor’s scale in the Academic level 14 of 7th CPC i.e. Rs 1,44,200 – Rs 2,18,200, along with usual allowance like TA/DA/HRA etc. However, deputation duty allowance will not be paid. In addition he/she shall also be eligible for a contingency fund of Rs 25000 per annum for meeting the chair related expenses.

(ii) Candidates already superannuated and fulfilling requirement of experience & eligibility conditions, shall be appointed on short term contract basis on a consolidated honorarium of Rs 1,25,000 per month. In addition he/she shall also be eligible for a contingency fund of Rs 25000 per annum for meeting the chair related expenses. He/she shall not be eligible for any other allowance.

National Testing Agency Issues Notification For Multiple Vacancies; Click For Eligibility & Other Details

Bhubaneswar: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued notification for multiple job openings on its official website.

58 vacancies are available for various posts including Joint Director, Deputy Director, Assistant Director and other posts. NTA has decided to fill up the following posts on deputation, short term contract, contract basis for a period of three years, which may be extended.

How To Apply Online

Eligible and interested candidates can apply online from January 18, 2021 up to February 18, 2021 on NTA website—www.nta.ac.in. No other mode of application including manual/paper shall be accepted/ entertained, the official notification read.

Reservations

Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories shall be provided as per the prevalent Reservation Policy of Government of India as amended from time to time.

Application Fees

Application fees for all posts (for appointment on contract basis) shall be Rs 1600 for UR/OBC/EWS and Rs 800 for SC/ST/PwD category of candidates.

Continuing with its recruitment spree, the Department of Posts has come up with another notification inviting applications for various posts. Interested and eligible candidates may apply for the India Post Recruitment on or before March 10, 2021 (1700 Hours).

“Applications are invited from the eligible Indian citizens for the posts of Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) (General Central Service, GR.C Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial),” reads the official notification.

India Post Recruitment 2021 Vacancy Details

Scale of Pay: Rs, 19900 in Level 2 in the Pay Matrix as per the 7th Central Pay Commission.

Period of Probation: Two years for direct recruits.

Age Limit for direct recruits: 18 to 27 yrs [ Relaxable 5 yrs for SC & ST, 3 yrs for OBC, for Government Servants up to 40 yrs in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by Central Government and for Ex- Serviceman up to a maximum of 3 years [08 ( 3+ 5 ) years for SC & ST and 06 (3+3) years for OBC] after deduction of the Military Service rendered from the actual age].

The caste certificate submitted in the prescribed format for appointment to posts under the Government of India will be considered for availing age relaxation under SC/ST/OBC/ESM. The crucial date for determining age limit is 10.03.2021.

Educational & Other qualifications for direct recruits:

(i) Possession of a valid driving license for light & heavy motor vehicles.

(ii) Knowledge of Motor Mechanism (The candidate should be able to remove minor defects in vehicle).

(iii) Experience of driving light & heavy motor vehicle for at least three years.

(iv) Pass in 10th Standard from a recognized Board or Institute.

Desirable qualification: Three years’ service as Home Guard or Civil Volunteers.

Method of Selection: Selection of Driver shall be made on the basis of driving test to assess their competency to drive light and heavy motor vehicles, from amongst the candidates possessing the requisite eligibility criteria mentioned above, reads the notification.

“The date and venue of the tests will be intimated separately to the eligible candidates. No intimation will be sent in respect of other applicants who are not eligible,” it added.

SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam 2019

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has declared the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Tier-1 examination 2019 result. Those who had appeared in the examination can check their results below.

The SSC CHSL Tier-I exam begun last year in March and concluded in October. The computer-based exam was held at various centres across the country in multiple shifts.

Those qualified are now eligible for Tier-II exam.

A total of 44,856 candidates have passed the SSC CHSL exam and are eligible to appear for the main exam.

Important To Note

Terms and conditions for the HAL Recruitment 2021:

This Advertisement for recruitment of the above posts is for the tenure period of 5 years.

The tenure may be extended for further period subject to the requirement of management and satisfactory performance during service.

Teaching experience of 5 years in Senior Secondary Level (class XI-XII) is required for PGT post. 5 years of experience is required in Middle/High School level (VI to X) for TGT posts and it is 2 years in Primary level (I-V) for PRT posts. Only post qualification experience in CBSE/ICSE Schools will be considered as experience.

Ahead of the deadline for SSC CGL application submission, the Staff Selection Commission has released an important notice for aspirants of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam.

In the notice, on its official website, the commission has advised the CGL aspirants not to wait till the last date to submit application for the exam.

As the online application window will close on January 31, SSC advised CGL aspirants to apply for the same much ahead because the website’s server usually gets slower by the end.

“No extension of the last date for submission of online application will be granted,” SSC informed.

Railway has already begun the recruitment process and will soon fill up all the vacancies, informed the newly appointed Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board, Suneet Sharma.

During an exclusive interaction with ANI, Sharma said, “We have started examinations through Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). Exams were also held in December. This is a continuous process and there’s a lot of recruitment to be done.”

He said that proper care of all the facilities for the candidates will be taken to ensure they can give exams smoothly.

Training centres were earlier affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, training in all the centres have now started, he added.

The Railway had notified around 140000 vacancies against which the national public transporter received around 24200000 applications.

Earlier, the Indian Railways had organised a mega recruitment drive in three phases starting from December 15, 2020 for filling up about 1.4 lakh vacancies against which it received around 2.44 lakh applications.

RRBs have made extensive preparations for conducting the exams while ensuring social distancing, compulsory use of masks, sanitizers, curtailing shifts for conducting exams to only two shifts per day.

Efforts are being made by RRBs to ensure that as far as possible the candidates are accommodated in their own State so that they can reach their exam centres by undertaking overnight journey, an official release had said.

The Indian Air Force has sought applications for Airmen posts in Group ‘X’ (except Education Instructor Trade) and Group ‘Y’ (Except Indian Air Force Security and Musician) Trades. Eligible candidates can apply against the vacancies on or before February 7, 2021.

“Online Registration shall commence at 1000h on 22 January 2021 and will close at 1700h on 07 February 2021. Only online registered applications shall be accepted,” reads the official notification.

Indian Air Force Recruitment 2021 Vacancy Details

Educational Eligibility:

X Trade: Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50 per cent marks in aggregate and 50 per cent marks in English or three-year Diploma course in Engineering in any stream.

Y Trade: Passed Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central/ State Education Boards with minimum 50 per cent marks in aggregate and 50 per cent marks in English.

For Medical Assistant Trade in Y Trade: Passed 10+2/ Intermediate/ equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in aggregate and 50 per cent marks in English.

Age Limit: Candidates applying for the positions should have born between 16-01-2001 and 29-12-2004 (both days inclusive). The Upper age limit to apply for both the Trades is 21 years.

Examination Fee: Candidates will have to pay Rs 250, while registering for the online examination. The payment can be made by using Debit Cards/ Credit Cards/ Internet Banking.

Exam Pattern for Indian Air Force Recruitment 2021

Group ‘X’ Trade: Total duration of the online test shall be 60 minutes and shall comprise questions on English, Physics and Mathematics as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus.

Group ‘Y’ Trade: Total duration of the online test shall be 45 minutes and shall comprise questions on English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning and General Awareness (RAGA).

Both Group ‘X’ & ‘Y’ Trades: Total duration of the online test shall be 85 minutes and shall comprise questions on English, Physics, and Mathematics as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning and General Awareness (RAGA).

Marking pattern for online test:

(i) One mark for every correct answer.

(ii) Nil (0) marks for unattempted question.

(iii) 0.25 marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

In a big opportunity for those who want to join the Indian Armed Forces, an Army recruitment rally will be held for the post of Soldier General Duty and Soldier Clerk/SKT for eligible male candidates of Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Una of Himachal Pradesh from March 1 to 16, 2021.

The Army recruitment rally will be held at the Indira Gandhi Sports Stadium in Una. Candidates will have to make Online registration for the Soldier General Duty and Clerk/SKT can be done on or before February 13, 2021.

The recruitment rally will also be held for the post of Junior Commissioned Officer (Religious Teacher) (JCO RT) and Havildar (Surveyor Automated Cartographer) (Hav SAC) for eligible candidates of all Himachal Pradesh, UT Chandigarh and Haryana- except the district of Gurgaon, Mewat, Palwal and Faridabad.

Online registration for JCO (RT) and Hav (SAC) is also mandatory.

Meanwhile, admit cards for the rally to all the above categories will be sent through registered e-mail from February 15, 2021, onwards.

Candidates need to bring Admit Card- Printed with Laser Printer on good quality paper (Do not shrink the size).

India Post has released a notification to fill up Staff Car Driver posts in the 7th Central Pay Commission Scale. Applications against vacancies can be submitted on or before February 15, 2021.

“It is proposed to fill up Sixteen (16) vacancies of Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) (General Central Service, Gr.C, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) in the Pay Rs.19,900/-( Level 2 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC) in the office of the Senior Manager, Mail Motor Service, Worli, Mumbai-400018 Department of Posts, Ministry of Communication & IT on Deputation/ Absorption basis in the Department of Posts failing which by Deputation/ Absorption from other Ministries/ on Deputation or Reemployment of Armed Forces Personnel…,” reads the official notification.

Eligibility Conditions: Deputation/Absorption of the officials in the Department of Posts:

From amongst the regular Dispatch Rider (Group C) and Group C employees in Pay Band – 1, Rs 5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs 1800 (Level 1 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC) in the Department of Posts who possess valid Driving Licence for light and heavy motor vehicles and on the basis of a driving test to assess the competence to drive light and heavy Motor vehicle.

Other Ministries of the Central Government and Armed Forces Personnel: From officials holding the post of Dispatch Rider on regular basis or regular Group C employees in Pay Band – 1, Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.1800 (Level 1 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC) who fulfil the necessary qualifications prescribed as under:

(i) Possession of a valid Driving Licence for light and heavy motor vehicles

(ii) Knowledge of Motor mechanism (The candidate should be able to remove minor defects in vehicle)

(iii) Experience of Driving Light and Heavy motor vehicle for at least three years

(iv) Pass in 10th Standard from a recognized Board or Institute

For Ex-servicemen: The Armed Forces Personnel due to retire or who are to be transferred to reserve within a period of one year and having the requisite experience and qualifications prescribed shall also be considered. Eligibility Conditions

Age Limit

ii) International Tournaments/Events of regional importance like Asian Games/Commonwealth Games/Afro Asian Games.
iii) Other International Tournaments / Events like SAF Games.
iv) Domestic Tournaments / Events of National level seniors like National Games, National Federation Games etc.
v) Domestic Tournaments / Events of National level of juniors.
vi) Inter-University Tournaments.
vii) National School Games.
viii) National physical efficiency/drive certificate holders .

Civil Services Exam 2019 Reserve List: UPSC Releases Important Clarification

New Delhi: The Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) has released a clarification notice with regard to operation of Reserve List in Civil Services Examinations, especially that of CSE, 2019.

The clarification comes in the backdrop of circulation of some misleading information regarding the operation of the CSE, 2019 on social media.

In a statement, UPSC said, “The Commission strictly goes by the Rules of Examination as notified by the Government of India through Gazette Notification for Civil Services Examination and all other examinations conducted by the commission while preparing results.”

For Civil Services Examination, the Commission recommends candidates belonging to different categories for their appointments in different services. While declaring Main result (the result at first instance), the number of recommended candidates under General (unreserved) category is reduced by the total number of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, the Other Backward Classes and the Economically Weaker Sections who acquire the merit at or above the general qualifying standard without availing any of the concession/relaxation either in eligibility or in selection criteria.

As per the UPSC statement, along with the list of recommended candidates of Main result, the Commission also maintains a consolidated Reserve List of candidates of general and reserved categories ranking below the last recommended candidate in the merit order under each of the categories for subsequent recommendation after concluding the exercise of service allocation of the recommended candidates of the Main result by the Government {Sub-rule 16(4) of the Gazette Notification of Civil Services Examination, 2019}

The recommendation of the candidates in this manner as envisaged in the Rules of Examination is an established practice of giving fair treatment to the candidates of reserved categories since decades enabling them to choose a service of higher preference based on their reserved status.

After exercise of the above option by the reserved category candidates, the resultant vacancies which arise due to the category movements, are filled up from the Reserve List, on a requisition received from the Government for each category including the General (unreserved) category.

From the above stated process, it is clear that the Reserve List is not a waiting list. In fact, the Reserve list is necessitated in a multi-service examination to allow candidates of reserved categories to choose a service of higher preference who qualify at or above general qualifying standard without availing any concession/relaxation at any stage of the examination.

“It is also necessary to state that all candidates, who are recommended from the Reserve List, are placed en-bloc below the last recommended candidate in merit position in each category of the Main result of the examination,” the statement added.

Bhubaneswar: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Monday  released the last recommended list for Civil Services (Main) exam 2019. The commission has recommended 89 more candidates to civil services, official source said. Earlier, 829 candidates in order of merit were recommended for appointment to IAS, IFS, IPS and Central Services Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ against 927 vacancies.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), in accordance with the Rule 16 (4) & (5) of the Civil Services Examination Rules, was also maintaining a Consolidated Reserve List in order of merit below the last recommended candidate under the respective categories.

As sought by the Department of Personnel & Training, the Commission has now recommended 89 candidates which include 73 General, 14 OBC, 01 EWS and 01 SC, to fill up the remaining posts based on the Civil Services Examination, 2019.

The candidates so recommended will be intimated directly by the DOP&T.
The candidature of following 04 (four) candidates bearing Roll No. 0404736, 0835241, 2100323 and 6603686 are provisional, an official notification read. The result of one candidate has been kept withheld.

RRB NTPC 2nd Phase CBT Exam Schedule

Bhubaneswar: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the RRB NTPC 2nd phase exam schedule for CBT-1 on its official website.

As per the schedule, the RRB NTPC 2nd phase CBT exam will be conducted from January 16 at various centres across the country.

RRB NTPC 2nd Phase CBT Exam Notice Details:

1. The 2nd phase of la Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-1) will be held from 16.01.2021 to 30.01.2021 for approx.27 lakh candidates.

2. For the candidates scheduled in this phase, the LINK for viewing the Exam City & Date and downloading of Free Travelling Authority for SC/ST candidates will be made available on all RRB websites on or before 06.01.2021.

3. Downloading of E-Call letters will start 4 days prior to the exam date mentioned in Exam City and date intimation link.

4. Necessary intimation is also being sent to all those candidates scheduled in the 2nd phase to their E-mail and Mobile numbers given in their online Application.

5. The remaining candidates will be scheduled in subsequent phases.

6. HELP DESK – A Help Desk has already been provided on all RRB official websites. Candidates are advised to use this Help Desk for seeking clarifications.

Meanwhile, RRB has advised candidates to refer only to its official websites for latest updates on the recruitment process and not to get misled by unauthenticated sources.

The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) has released a recruitment notification seeking application for 7298 constable (General Duty) posts. Out of the 7298 vacancies, 5500 are for male constable, 1100 for female constable (General Duty) and 698 for female constable for HAP-DURGA-1.

While the opening date for submission of online applications is January 11, the last date to apply for the Haryana SSC posts is February 10. Application fees can be deposited till February 13.

Candidates applying for a post must ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility condition physical standards on the last date of application. Oline application for the same can be filled by using thhe URL address i.e http://adv42020.hryssc.in/StaticPages/HomePage.aspx.

If on verification at any stage starting from submitting application form till appointment, it is found that any candidate does not fulfill any of the eligibility condition or it is found that the information furnished is false or incorrect, his/her candidature will be cancelled and he/she will also be liable to be criminally prosecuted.

The shortlisting of candidates shall be done on basis of particulars filled in online application form for which he shall have to add/upload supporting documents. In case of variation in two, candidature shall be cancelled.

Odisha Civil Services Exam: OPSC Releases Notification, Application Process To Begin From Jan 12

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has released an official notification inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts and services under the Odisha Civil Services (Group-A and Group-B).

The registration process for the civil services exam would begin on January 12, 2021, and the link for registration and payment of examination fee will be available till February 11, 2011. (Note: The last date for submission of registered online application is February 18, 2021). Interested and eligible candidates can visit the official site of OPSC (opsc.gov.in) and apply as soon as the process begins.

As many as 392 vacancies would be filled up through this recruitment drive. Applicants are advised to scroll down for details on eligibility criteria, selection process, and other information regarding the civil services exam.

Name of the Post, Number of Vacancies and Pay Scale

1. Odisha Administrative Service Group-A (Junior Branch): 137 Posts. They will get Rs 56,100 in level-12-Cell-I in the pay matrix under Rule-3 of ORSP Rules 2017.

2. Odisha Police Service Group-A (Junior Branch): 6 Posts

3. Odisha Finance Service Group-A (Junior Branch): 104 Posts. The scale of pay for OPS and OFS is same as OAS.

4. Odisha Co-operative Service (ARCS/AGCS) Group-B: 8 Posts. Those selected will get Rs 44,900 in level-10-Cell-I in the pay matrix provided under Rule-3 of ORSP Rules 2017.

5. Odisha Revenue Service Group-B: 74 Posts.

6. Odisha Taxation & Accounts Service, Group-B: 63 Posts. The scale of pay for ORS and OT&S will be same as OCS.

Odisha Civil Services Exam: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Those who want to apply for the civil services examination must have a Bachelor’s Degree from any University incorporated by an Act of the Central or a State Legislature in India or an Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or deemed to be a University under Section-3 of the UGC Act 1956, or a foreign university approved the Central government.

Age Limit: Applicants’ age should be between 21 years and 32 years as on January 1, 2020. However, the age limit is relaxable by 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/SEBC/Women/Ex-servicemen and by 10 years for PWDs whose permanent disability is 40% or more.

Examination Fees: Candidates are required to pay Rs 500 as examination fees. The fees paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances nor can the fee be adjusted or held in reserve for any other examination or recruitment. However, SC, ST and PWD candidates are exempted from payment of fees.

Civil Services Exam 2019 Reserve List: UPSC Releases Important Clarification

Bhubaneswar: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released an official notification inviting online applications for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I) 2021.

Candidates can apply for the examinations online at upsconline.nic.in on or before January 19, 2021 until 6 PM. The online applications can be withdrawn from January 27 to February 2, 2021 till 6 pm.

UPSC will conduct the examination on April 18, 2021 for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 147th Course, and for the 109th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from 2nd January, 2022.

Important Instructions For Candidates:

The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Mere issue of Admission Certificate to the candidate will not imply that his candidature has been finally cleared by the Commission.

Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents is taken up only after the candidate has qualified for interview/Personality Test.

Candidates should note that there will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.

EPFO Recruitment 2021

Bhubaneswar: The Union Public Service Commission will be conducting the recruitment test for Enforcement Officer/Accounts Officer in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization on May 9, 2021.

The UPSC has decided to give an opportunity to the candidates who want to revise their choice of centre for the recruitment test.

The move comes in the backdrop of requests from large number of candidates for changing their Centres as well as requests received from candidates to open centres at Kolkata and Jaipur which were more than their capacity.

The Recruitment Test will now be held at 72 centres across India. 49 centres having available capacity will be opened in the first phase.

In the second phase, after adjusting the options given by the candidates, other centres shall be opened as feasible, the Commission said in its latest notification.

The window of submitting the revised choice of Centres by the candidates will be operational in two phases i.e. 15th to 21st December 2020 (06.00 PM) and 29th December 2020 to 04th January 2021 (06.00 PM) on the Commission’s website– https://upsconline.nic.in/.

The candidates may please note that their requests for change in the Centres will be considered based on the principle of “first apply-first allot” basis and once the capacity of a particular Centre is attained, the same will be frozen. The candidates, who cannot get a Centre of their choice due to ceiling, will be required to choose a Centre from the remaining centres.

Massive Vacancies: Lakhs Of Posts In State Police Forces, CAPFs Lying Vacant

New Delhi: Over 5.31 lakh posts in police forces of different states and 1.27 lakh posts in Central Armed Police Forces like CRPF and BSF have been lying vacant, the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D) said Tuesday.

Releasing different aspects of policing in the country as on January 1, 2020, the BPR&D also said a total of 1,19,069 police personnel were recruited in 2019 in various police forces across India.

According to the data, the total sanctioned police forces in states and union territories is 26,23,225, while there are 20,91,488 police personnel actually in service. Therefore, 5,31,737 posts in police forces are lying vacant as on January 1, 2020.

The figures include civil police, district armed police, special armed police and India Reserve Battalions.

The BPR&D, a wing of the Ministry of Home Affairs, said the strength of women in police forces is 2,15,504, which is 10.30 per cent of the total police force in India. There has been a 16.05 per cent increase of women police over the previous year, it added.

The data said the total sanctioned strength of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) is 11,09,511 but the actual strength of the CAPFs as on January 1, 2020, is 9,82,391 a gap of 1,27,120 personnel.

The total number of women police personnel in CAPF is 29,249, which is 2.98 per cent of the total strength.

The CAPFs are CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, NSG and Assam Rifles.

Sanctioned Population Per Police Person (PPP) is 511.81 and the sanctioned Police Population Ratio (PPR), police personnel per lakh of population, is 195.39. The sanctioned Police Area Ratio (PAR) per 100 sq km is 79.80.

According to the data, there are 800 police districts in the country and the number of sanctioned police stations is 16,955. The total State Armed Police Battalions is 318 and the total police commissionerates is 63.

A total of 2,02,925 police vehicles are available with the states and UTs police, besides 4,60,220 CCTV cameras, the BPR&D said.

The government has spent Rs 1,566.85 crore in 2019-20 for expenditure and police training.

The BPR&D said it has been publishing the data on police organisations since 1986 and the data as on January 1, 2019, was released by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on January 29, 2020.

This is for the first time in the history of BPR&D that the annual data for a particular year has been released during the year itself, the BPR&D said in a statement, adding that much effort has gone into verifying the data.
