With the announced lockdown in Odisha coming to an end on June 17th, all eyes are now on State government’s decision on reopening. During a review meeting recently, CM Naveen Patnaik instructed officials to prepare the blueprint of unlocking in the state.

As per sources, a risk-based assessment is being carried out to facilitate reopening. Sources informed that the whole state has been divided into Green, Orange & Red zones based on the weekly positivity rate. Districts with positivity rate below 5% fall in green zone, while districts with positivity rate between 5% & 10% are orange zone districts.

The districts where the positivity rate is more than 10% are red zone districts. State Health Department sources stated quoting WHO guidelines that the districts that maintain Test Positivity Rate below 5 per cent for three consecutive weeks come under the safe zone. And these zones or districts can be considered for lifting of restrictions, as per WHO guidelines. So, the districts in the green zone may see some reopening post June 17, while the red zone districts that include Khurdha, Cuttack & Puri may see little relaxations.
