Mumbai: The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex recovered by over 152 points in opening trade today on emergence of buying by funds as well as retail investors at attractive lower levels.

The 30-share barometer, which has lost nearly 1,392 points in the previous nine sessions, recovered by 152.15 points, or 0.84 per cent, to 18,362.73 in the first five minutes of trading.

The wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty also moved up by 47.65 points, or 0.87 per cent, to 5,507.50.

Brokers said the emergence of buying by funds and investors at attractive lower levels mainly influenced the trading sentiment.
