The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has begun the Class 10 and 12 final examinations today, 15th February. On the first day of the exams, Class 10 students will sit for the English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature) papers, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. Simultaneously, Class 12 students will appear for the Entrepreneurship paper in the same time slot.

The CBSE expects around 44 lakh students from 8,000 schools across India and abroad to participate in the 2025 board exams for Classes 10 and 12.

CBSE Guidelines:

In preparation for the exams, the board has issued a set of guidelines regarding exam day procedures, including the dress code, items allowed and prohibited in the exam hall, and penalties for unfair practices. Students have been advised to carefully review the information provided on their admit cards before attending the exam centre.

Regular students must bring their admit cards along with their school identity cards. Private students should carry the admit card and a government-issued photo ID. Only specific items are allowed in the exam hall, such as a transparent pouch, geometry box, blue or royal blue ink pens, a scale, writing pad, erasers, and a transparent water bottle.

CBSE Board Exams 2025 Prohibitted Items:

Prohibited items include any type of stationery containing textual material, calculators, electronic devices like mobile phones, smartwatches, or Bluetooth gadgets, as well as wallets and handbags. Students with Dyscalculia may use a calculator provided by the exam centre.

As per the dress code, regular students are required to wear their school uniform, while private students may opt for light clothing. Food items are restricted unless the student is diabetic, in which case necessary food items can be brought.

The CBSE has also emphasised the importance of adhering to exam ethics, warning students of the consequences of unfair practices. These guidelines are designed to ensure that the examination process runs smoothly, with fairness and transparency.

Students have bee advised to arrive at the examination hall well before the gate closing time to avoid any last-minute rush and ensure a smooth entry. Arriving early will provide sufficient time for necessary security checks and allow students to settle into their seats comfortably, reducing any unnecessary stress before the exam begins.

CBSE has encouraged students to familiarise themselves with these instructions to avoid any last-minute issues and ensure a successful exam day.
