Mumbai: The Indian rupee fell by 11 paise to Rs 45.35 a dollar in the early trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange today, tracking gains in the American currency overseas and weak opening at the stock markets.

Forex traders said US dollar`s gains against the euro and other currencies and and sluggish opening at bourses weighed on the rupee sentiment.

The rupee had ended 7 paise higher at Rs 45.24/25 a dollar in the previous session on late dollar selling by exporters and banks.

Meanwhile, the BSE benchmark Sensex fell by 57.14 points to 20,127.60 in opening trade today.
