Mumbai: The Indian Rupee fell by 14 paise to Rs 45.25 a dollar in early trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange today, weighed down by a lower opening on the stock market and weakness in other Asian currencies overseas.

Rupee had appreciated by 14 paise to close at Rs 45.11/12 a dollar yesterday in line with higher stocks, sale of American currency by exporters and dip in oil prices.

Forex dealers said a lower opening in the stock market and fall in other Asian currencies put pressure on rupee.

Meanwhile, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex opened 149.64 points, or 0.81 per cent down at 18,209.05 level today.
