Indian Bank increases base rates

Chennai: Public sector lender Indian Bank has increased its base rates by 0.5 per cent with immediate effect.

"The Base Rate is revised by 0.50 per cent from the existing rate of 9 per cent to 9.50 per cent per annum with effect from February 1, 2011", the Chennai-based bank said in a statement on Tuesday.
