Mumbai: Both the precious metals, gold and silver continued to surge at the domestic bullion market here on Tuesday on consistent buying from speculators and stockists amidst strong offtake from jewellers driven by bullish global cues.

Silver ready (.999 fineness) shot up by Rs 1,215 per kg to close at Rs 59,390 from Monday`s close of Rs 58,175.

Standard gold (99.5 purity) hardened by Rs 130 per 10 grams to finish at Rs 22,085 from Rs 21,955 yesterday.

Pure gold (99.9 purity) also gained by a similar margin of Rs 130 per 10 grams to conclude at Rs 22,190 from overnight closing level of Rs 22,060.

In overseas trade, precious metals rebounded from its intra-day lows on the back of weakening dollar supported by resurfacing of Greece`s debt crisis.

In Europe, spot gold bid at USD 1,514.60 an ounce in early trade, while spot silver was bid at USD 38.39 an ounce.
