It is for the past several days that the proceedings of the Odisha Assembly have been witnessing pandemonium following ruckus by the Opposition members. BJP MLA Manas Dutta alleged that it is being deliberately done by the BJD so that their sins do not come out.
While speaking to ANI, Dutta said, "81 new MLAs have been elected to the Assembly and Speaker allows us to raise issues concerning our respective constituencies. However, the Opposition (BJD) which was in power for 25 years is trying to disrupt the House so that its sins do not come out. BJD does not want the state's development.”
The BJP MLA further said that the MLAs want to raise issues but the Opposition is trying to create unnecessary issues and disrupt the proceedings of the House.
On the other hand, BJD MLA Pratap Deb said, "The main reason for the disruption of the House is that both Congress and BJD are demanding that there should be reservations in educational institutions. On one hand, you are giving 37 percent of ST, SC and OBC are getting less which is a point of concern. During our government, we had proposed OBC census but Supreme Court order prevented it. It has been a long-standing demand for surveys of OBCs.”

According to Deb, CM Mohan Majhi says that to lessen the dropout rate of students, they have launched a new scheme. On the same line, he has also announced medical colleges in each district. Around 41 percent population is SC & ST, and OBC are nearly about 50-51 percent in the state. When the majority of the people will fall in this category, why not have reservations in the education system for them, he said.
