In view of the Coronavirus outbreak and the hardships being faced by the mobile subscribers, BSNL has come up with new offers while Reliance Jio, Vodafone and Airtel have also introduced new plans.
For its subscribers whose validity has expired during the lockdown period from March 22, and are not able to recharge for extension of validity, BSNL has extended the validity of all such subscribers up to April 20 free of cost helping them continue to receive incoming calls.
Besides, BSNL is also giving free talk time of Rs 10 to all such subscribers who reach zero balance during the lockdown period. These facilities have been extended to facilitate communication by BSNL mobile subscribers in emergency.
“BSNL firmly stands with its subscribers during this crisis period and we request the subscribers to Go Digital for recharging their accounts. Several options are available for recharge include MyBSNL mobile app, BSNL website and other popular wallet services," said BSNL CMD, Praveen Kumar Purwar.
Reliance Jio Plans
Reliance Jio has introduced affordable prepaid plans. Jio has presently three plans offering 2GB data per day - Rs 249, Rs 444 and Rs 549. Apart from the 2GB data per day, subscribers can also get a free subscription to Jio apps.
The Rs 444 plan of Jio has the same benefits offering Jio to Jio unlimited, Jio to non-Jio FUP of 2,000 minutes with a validity of 56 days. Similarly, Jio's Rs 599 plan gives same data benefits with a validity of 84 days. It offers Jio to Jio unlimited and Jio to non-Jio FUP of 3,000 minutes.
Data Plans By Vodafone
Vodafone has some good plans offering 2GB data per day. It has three such plans- Rs 299, Rs 449 and Rs 699 data packs. Its 28-day's Rs 299 plan offers 2GB data along with 100 SMSes per day. It has also unlimited calling facility to all networks along with a free subscription to Vodafone play and Zee5 streaming app.
The Rs 449 plan of Vodafone has a validity of 56 days while the Rs 699 plan gives a validity for 84 days. Both these plans gives the same data benefits and free subscription to Vodafone Play and Zee5 alike the Rs 299 plan.
Airtel Data Plans
Meanwhile, Airtel has announced to extend the validity of pre-paid packs of over eight crore subscribers till April 17, in view of the coronavirus crisis and nationwide lockdown.
"Airtel has extended the pre-paid pack validity for over 80 million customers till April 17, 2020. All these customers will continue to get incoming calls on their Airtel mobile numbers even after the validity of their plan is exhausted," the company said in a statement.
Besides, Airtel will credit an additional Rs 10 of talk time in the pre-paid accounts of all these eight crore customers to enable them to make calls or send SMS.
The benefits will be available to users in the next 48 hours, it said.
"These 80 million customers effectively cover all under-privileged households on the Airtel network. These special measures will particularly benefit migrant workers and daily wage earners who may have been impacted due to the nationwide lockdown to combat COVID-19," the statement said.
