Member of Parliament Pradip Purohit on Tuesday was caught on camera pulling up a Junior Engineer (JE) over an alleged inordinate delay in development works in Bargarh’s Jharbandh block. The lawmaker reprimanded the JE and warned him that there is no Pandian rule in Odisha now.
“Pandian is not ruling us now,” Purohit can be heard saying to the JE during a Nuakhai gathering at Kurlupali village. The lawmaker expressed his outrage after repeated complaints against the JE.
“We will not tolerate the corruption that was going on during the previous BJD government. As a representative of the people, I’m telling you to keep in mind that the government has changed. Mohan Majhi's government is for the people, by the people, and of the people. So, please cooperate with us and we will work together to bring a lot of development,” the Bargarh MP was heard saying.

He further added, “Some corrupt officers think that Pandian is ruling Odisha. They are yet to come to terms with there is BJP rule in Odisha. So, this was my warning to all the corrupt officers who have not changed till now, and who are still demanding PC. If needed we should punish them like our legendary and visionary Biju Babu.”
“Today, a JE was here. He was told to do a couple of works, but he hasn’t done it yet. So, I had to call him to the stage,” he added.
