Audi’s 2014 sales up eight percent
Mumbai: German luxury car manufacturer Audi on Thursday reported yearly sales growth of 8.48 percent for 2014 at 10,851 units against 10,002 units in 2013.
“Audi continues to be the undisputed No.1 in the luxury car market and has remained
the preferred choice of luxury mobility for car enthusiasts in India. The sheer
acceptance of our brand in this country is tremendous,” said Joe King, head, Audi India.
“We believe for Audi, India is a long journey and it’s not just about a month or a year. The strategy that we have implemented in this journey has helped us to not only achieve leadership but also to maintain it.”
According to the company, 2014 sales results marks the seventh successive year of growth for the company which last year became the first luxury car manufacturer to achieve sales of 10,000 units in a calendar year, as well as, financial year in India.
The company said that heavy demand outstripped supply, enabling Audi India to achieve a 17 percent sales growth during the last quarter (October to December 2014) which stood at 3,044 units from 2,611 units sold in the corresponding period of 2013.
