The Southwest Monsoon has arrived in Odisha, informed regional centre of the India Meteorological Centre on Thursday (June 10). The MeT centre informed through twitter that the conditions are favourable and the monsoon would cover all districts of Odisha within the next 48 hours.

As per the Met Office, a low pressure area is likely to form over Northwest Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood during next 24 hours. It is likely to become more marked during subsequent 24 hours and move west northwest-wards across Odisha.

On account of expected heavy to very heavy rainfall and extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places, Red Warning has been issued by the Met Office for June 11th till June 12th morning for districts of Kandhamal, Boudh, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nayagarh, Sonepur, Khurdha, Puri, and Jagatsinghpur. For the subsequent 24 hours, red warning has been issued for Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Boudh, Sambalpur, Angul and Nawarangpur.
