The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued its weather forecast for the next seven days. As per the met office rainfall is expected in specific districts, while the majority of Odisha is likely to experience dry conditions.
This forecast is set to impact both daily life and agricultural activities across the state.
Day 1 (Valid until 0830 hrs IST on 19 December 2024)
Light rain is expected in one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada and Puri. The other districts of Odisha have been placed under dry weather conditions. Shallow to moderate fog would prevail over Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Sundargarh.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST on 19 December to 0830 hrs IST on 20 December 2024)
Light to moderate rain is likely in the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Puri. Dry weather will prevail elsewhere. The minimum temperature is likely to increase gradually by 2-3°C during the next two days.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST on 20 December to 0830 hrs IST on 21 December 2024)
Light to moderate rain is likely at a few places along the coastal regions of Odisha and one or two places in the interior districts.
Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST on 21 December to 0830 hrs IST on 22 December 2024)
Light rain is likely to occur at one or two places in districts like Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur, while dry conditions are very likely to prevail in the rest of the state.
Day 5 to Day 7 (Valid from 22 to 25 December 2024)
Dry weather is likely to persist over Odisha with no major departures from the current temperature trend.
The farmers are cautioned to take all their activities accordingly because of the minimal rainfall, especially in the interior areas.
