Pattamundai: Based on the sexual harassment allegation lodged by a woman in Pattamundai police station, that too by a senior official in his room when she went there to lodge complaint in another case, Kendrapara SP has ordered a probe into the incident.
According to the woman's statements, IIC of Pattamundai PS Ramesh Chandramukhi passed indecent remarks and assaulted her inside the police station on May 20 when she went to file a complaint on a family dispute.
She resisted the officer's advances and later lodged a complaint at the SP office following which a probe was ordered.
“It has been one month since the incident happened. I have directed DSP SN Das to investigate into the case. Action will be taken based on the reports," Kendrapara SP Dayanidhi Gochhayat, told mediapersons.
