Mayurbhanj: A Class-X student of Sarata government high school under Udala block of Mayurbhanj district was allegedly beaten up by a teacher. A written complaint was lodged at the Sarata police station in this connection on Sunday.
As per the complaint, when Rengta Marandi, a student of the High School, was sitting under a tree along with his friends on July 28, the Hindi teacher of the school came and questioned them the reason why they were sitting there. Later, he beat up Rengta with a stick.
“We were listening songs sitting under the tree. Seeing our Hindi teacher approaching we were about to leave but he called us back and beat us with a stick,” alleged the victim.
Even after repeated attempts, police officials and the school administration were unavailable for comment.
