Bhubaneswar: Their lust for smart phones has landed them in jail. One such criminal gang that used to snatch mobile phones from people in Smart City Bhubaneswar has been busted by Commissionerate Police on Monday.
According to sources, the criminal gang mostly comprising ‘teenagers’ operated in groups and used to decamp with mobile phones from users between 6 pm and 10 pm.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar, Satyabrat Bhoi informed that the gang was mostly involved in snatching mobile phones from Chandrasekharpur, Nandankanan and Infocity areas.
“We had launched a special drive to bust the gang that used operate on the outskirts and we have been successful in arresting 5 members,” said Bhoi.
Bhoi further informed that 41 stolen mobile phones have been seized from their possession.
